YouTube/VH1 Video: Iman Shumpert On Falling In Love w/ Teyana Taylor | How We Met | Teyana & Iman

There is something about "How We Met" stories that I just love. I don't know if it's all the obstacles and complications that people have to fight through to get together or if it's the sparks that flew when they first met or kissed... Maybe it's the approach and the chase - I don't know what it is, but I really like hearing stories about how people met and started their relationships. Maybe I still have hope about finding true love... Or, maybe I'm just like other humans and love a good story. Who knows.

Anyway... Here's a short romantic story you might enjoy. To be honest, it's not one of my favorites because it's way too short. Hella short. And, although as a basketball fan, I like Iman Shumpert (Cleveland Cavaliers), I don't know why he is trying to be "poetic" or "dramatic" in telling his version of the story. Just tell the damn story, man. And, give us all the juicy details.

Most articles, interviews, videos, vlogs, stories, jokes, and documentaries can be found on various dating sites and YouTube sites here on the Internet. I focus on toxic relationships and relationship drama in order to turn the negatives of a relationship into positives. My main goal is to help others find a compatible partner/team player OR see the positives of being single and enjoying the single life.

notes - how good women can get more dates

Recently, I've noticed that there are a lot of women out there wanting a relationship but don't know where to start or they aren't sure about how to start.

On top of that, they're shy and afraid to mix and mingle with other folks or approach a man for a date.

They suffer from social anxiety.

They feel they're not interesting enough. Or, pretty enough. Or, have ANY of the good qualities an honest man would want.

These notes will touch on some of the ways you can increase your "stock" and gain some exposure to attract a mate or more dates, but, remember: There are other notes on this blog that touches on the subject so don't hesitate to copy and create your own personal tips for approaching and dating.

Get some tips from your friends or co-workers or acquaintances as well.

--------------------- notes --------------------------

you just have to get out more.

don't daydream about dating. makes some moves to make it happen.

be more complimentary or engaging in small-talk

before you get too deep or waste too much time, use your instincts to see if the guy really has potential or if you would be better off giving a geek or nerd or nice guy a chance.

be sure you're not dealing with players, wafflers, free spirits, and ego-maniacs (bullies).

make some new friends who will have other single friends and single acquaintances in their lives.

you might meet some of these men at a friendly party or get-together or dinner.

your co-workers might know some available men who are looking for love. you could also get a part-time job to meet new guys - if you have time.

if you are lacking in style, get a makeover to attract more prospects.

if done right (and, if you're attitude is inviting), more men will come to you.

learn from other women (or watch them) and improve your charm and feminine power.

be coy sometimes.

never be afraid of asking a guy questions about himself or his past relationships. some of them will lie, but many of them get kind of giddy when a woman asks about stuff like that.

- are you a player
- how do you treat your women
- when was the last time you went out (on a date)
- how often do you go out
- are you faithful man

etc. it's small-talk and there are better questions than these, so take a look around and listen to others and how they get men to engage.

you don't HAVE to know what you're looking for (in a man) but, often it helps. some people have habits and personalities that just suck.

and, you SHOULD know what your ultimate relationship goals are - completely.

- marriage
- where you would like to live
- having children
- will he be a spiritual man
- do you want someone who likes to travel and go out or a home-body
- do you want someone who's good host and family oriented
- do you have a lifestyle preference
- do you have certain sexual lifestyle preferences
- will your career cause you two to be alone often

join some social groups or organizations and you will also make friends and meet new guys.

just remember to take your time about "love" and REALLY get to know the guy - interests, preferences, wants, needs, personality, habits, life goals, fixations, etc. some of these bums don't want anything but a piece of ass. some of them don't know what they want. they want to be single but they want to be free.

BE SURE TO ASK ALL OF THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS CONCERNING LIFESTYLE AND HIS ABILITY TO STAY FOCUSED ON ONE WOMAN AND ONE RELATIONSHIP.

learn to improve your conversation and social skills. this will help reduce shyness. and, after you've interacted with people for a while and made a few new friends, your confidence will improve.

look at yourself and consider what may be a factor in stopping you from meeting good quality men. it's not going to be the fact that you have no friends or family. or, that you've never been in a relationship. or, that you have no sexual experience.

what will stop men from approaching you is your style, personality, attitude, and appearance.

in reality - and in time - you will meet guys no matter what you are like. but, will you be accepting of the guys who WANT to date you and get to know you? or, will you be too picky and chase after guys who are only "fun" and (seemingly) "interesting"?

get that makeover going and your stock will rise. more men will be attracted to you and interested in you. and, remember to have a positive attitude, charm, wit, to keep their attention. guys like girls who are smart and like to have fun.

don't overdo it but know how to laugh, relax, and have a good time.

hot chicks: they're simple girls looking for love too - notes

I was going to post notes on "being misunderstood because of shyness" but, somehow, I got side-tracked and ended up talking about "hot chicks" who are misunderstood because of their beauty. If I figure out what I was trying to say, I'll update this post later.

---------------------------------------------------

If you lack confidence when meeting, dating, and/or socializing with "hot" and sexy prospects, it may be because you're putting them on too high of a pedestal.

I know some guys who'll take one look at a beautiful girl and immediately think she's out of their league.

And, the brave few who will attempt to approach this girl will often do so half-heartedly because they feel they're going to be rejected once she gets a good look at them.

They'd have a better chance if they would just simply relax and enjoy the moment.

In their minds, they've already predicted gloom and doom before they've even made a move.

Of course you're gonna be rejected if your weird-ass approaches a girl like you're freakin' Frankenstein's monster - mumbling and dragging your heels.

You've got to approach that babe with confidence.

Be cool about it. Give yourself a chance. Give her a chance.

many people think that hot chicks are conceited and focus only on their good looks but that's not always true. Some of those girls are sweet as pie.

even hot sexy chicks are shy and afraid of rejection.

hell, they have a hard time finding dates too

they are misunderstood all the time

people think all hot chicks are the same or have the same opinions of themselves - that all these fine babes out here are super-proud of their looks and use their beauty as a weapon to get whatever they want. But, average men and women do this as well. Hell, if the right fool comes along, ANYONE could milk him or her out of anything they wanted.

The truth is: SOME of these "hot chicks" don't realize how beautiful they are.

Some of them are self-conscious about how they look and consider themselves "average" - or even, BELOW average.

i see them come in the store all the time dressed like bums and looking sloppy as hell. they don't know they're being admired or swooned over by all of those eyeballs in there. they could care less about how they look. they aren't concerned with their appearance or impressing anyone. some of my Exes had similar attitudes.

many women - whether they're hot or not - want to be appreciated for what they are on the "inside". and for what they have to offer to another besides good looks.

you might think a lot of these sweet dumplings are cold-blooded but many of these hot chicks out here have a heart. they participate in fundraising, they fight for human rights, they are scientists and activists who want to make the world a better place for all people, and they are teachers.

I've seen mud-ducks who have worse attitudes than hot chicks.

No class whatsoever. And, arrogant as hell. It's disgusting.

Anyway...

every hot chick isn't looking to be a model or an actress or someone's trophy wife.

all of them don't want to be put on a pedestal and admired for their beauty. some of them don't care about beauty. some of these babes want the world to know that they're intelligent and goodhearted

the reality is: many of these hot chicks out here are lonely and feel inadequate in their lives without a true purpose in their lives or Love or the ability to make a difference in the world.

really, it's society and everyone else who's putting so much emphasis on how hot these chicks are because most of us love and appreciate beauty and eye-candy.

Hell, I know I'm guilty. I've dated all types of chicks but it took me a while to appreciate a chick for more than just her beauty.

we're the ones who are making these "average girls" live up to certain ideas and philosophies we have about "hot chicks" and how they should act, walk, and talk

so, of course many of them are concerned about their style and "fitting in" with their friends and peers or living up to the expectations of their parents, relatives, or to society.

but they're like everyone else...

some are crazy as hell

some are nerds

some like to act silly or goofy and make people laugh

some like to get dirty and build things, or fix things, or work in a garden

some of them are worried that they're not interesting enough

some hot chicks are introverts

some of them are socially clumsy and this makes them shy because they feel anxious about striking up a conversation or sharing their thoughts or opinions

all of them aren't stuck-up or uppity or self-centered or prissy

all of them aren't narcissistic

all of them aren't like these so-called "strong women" with attitudes and high opinions of themselves

quite a few of them are "down-to-earth" and they're looking for a nice "down-to-earth" prospect to date and get to know on a deeper level

some of them are begging and praying to find a sweet guy.

Why, this past year, I've seen some of the prettiest girls come into the store with some real gorillas. I mean these guys looked so beastly they could give Shrek or King Kong a run for their money.

I've seen short guys in there walking hand-in-hand with some fine tenderonies as well. So, don't be so quick to negatively judge these hot chicks. All of them are interested in guys based on their looks.

true, some of them are still picky as hell but most people are picky as hell too. So, you still just have to go for it if you're "feeling" her and want to get to know her on a deeper level.

sometimes, they let their friends influence them or guide them about who they should choose to date or what they should strive for in a mate - or, what their relationship goals and life goals should be

and this is what gives many hot chicks a bad reputation. many of them allow their friends or relatives to think for them instead of thinking for themselves

sometimes their friends or some "match-maker" will takeover and pick a prospect for them based on how much money the prospect has or how attractive the prospect is. this could leave you out in the cold if you don't make your move quickly

some hot chicks have no preference or concerns about dating a super-hot buff guy with major cash. she's looking for someone who's honest, respectful, kind, and sweet. all of them aren't superficial.

so your chances are just as good as anyone as long as you're not shy also - or overwhelmed by her looks

give the girl a chance. don't be so quick to judge or to think negative. find a way to approach her so that she knows you're interested and interesting.

don't sit back and let a scrub or a drunkard make a move before you do! that bum will ruin it for everybody! she'll think she's surrounded by losers and clam-up! or, even worse, she'll think that drunkard is funny and exciting and fall in love with him! or HER!

and, it could be days, weeks, months, or years, before that babe realizes her mistake! in the meantime, you're still single and lonely because you've let that opportunity walk right out of your life...

don't be afraid of rejection. you can't win them all but you can't win AT ALL if you don't play. it never hurts to ask. how else could you stand a chance of meeting her?

wouldn't it be funny if both of you were interested in each other but were too shy to approach? it's happened to me before. And, I've missed out on a good thing because of it. Don't let that happen to you.

Tips On How To Reply And Respond

I saw these big beautiful mums at a garden nursery so I snapped a picture of them with my new LG500g cellphone. Anyway...

Now that I'm a full-time "sales" mane, I'll have to really work hard on my conversational skills! So, I'll try to post something at least twice a week for those of you who struggle with conversational flow as I do.

And, it's weird... people seem to really enjoy talking to me and want to talk to me but, I'm nervous sometimes whenever I have to talk to them - even if they are fun to talk to and easy to talk to. I Still get nervous. ???

I don't know what's up with that.

But, people still seem to enjoy talking to me or want to talk to me. Even my managers and supervisors.

Sometimes, I even get people asking me for advice or for my opinion on personal matters. Or - out the blue - these guys and girls will share secrets about their personal life with me. Sometimes I just listen. Sometimes, I'll start yappin' and apologize for rambling on, but they keep coming back....

One of my homeboys even suggested that I write a book. lol.

I don't know what it is. I still have a few things to learn about myself I guess.

Maybe I zone out or something when I talk to people and don't know what the hell I'm saying because I don't get it.

Anyway, let me tell you what I found out.

Dammit! I put the notes in my phone!

Okay, I'm gonna "wing" this cause I'm too lazy to get up and I should be getting some sleep for work tomorrow...

Anyway... This is what I discovered:

You shouldn't be nervous about starting a conversation because you can start a conversation about anything.

The trick is keeping the conversation going.

Let me give you an example:

Let's say you're at the market shopping for some eggs, bread, and milk, and you see this hot girl or hot guy standing a few feet from you checking out the butter. So, you say, "Mmmmmm... That butter looks mighty good."

And, he or she looks up at you...

What do you say now?

Although that girl or guy hasn't said anything. He or she has still responded simply by acknowledging your presence.

So, how do you reply or respond to his or her response?

You could ask:

What brand of butter is that?
Is that butter healthy?
Is that butter expensive?
Is that butter low in sodium?
Do you use that brand regularly? How good is it?
Have you tried that brand before?
How long have you been using that brand?

Then you say (or, you could say):

I love butter and jam on my toast, but I need something healthier. Do you think I should try that?
I'm learning to cook. What would be a good dish to cook with that butter?
Do you cook a lot of meals yourself? What's a good recipe that you use with that butter?
They have some really good prices on butter here, but did you notice how expensive the eggs are?

There are a million responses you could use also!

But, be ready with plenty more responses because the conversation can only get deeper and deeper after you get past the small-talk.

And, you don't always have to respond with words! Remember! Body language and facial expressions are important too.

And, don't forget about being mentally in-tune with the moment! Have fun. Remember, your goal is to get to know this person or to find out more about what's going on in the world around you.

That guy or girl may have some information on more deals. He or she may be able to help you with catering. He or she may have free tickets to give away... You never know. He or she may be related to you in some way or possibly a friend of one of your close friends.

So, engage and just enjoy the moment. That's what it's all about.

-----------------------------------

Here's a good tip that you can use to improve your confidence and reduce shyness...

First, look deep inside yourself and realize what your confidence boosters are.

For some people, it's money. For others, it's their skills. Knowledge is a confidence booster also. Some people are confident and proud because of status or their achievements.

What makes you confident around certain people or in certain situations?

What makes you forget your problems?

What makes you forget your fears?

What makes you forget feeling bashful?

When you discover what your confidence boosters are, you have to apply them to other aspects of your "game" in order to improve your confidence and overall swagger. Especially if you want to improve your Life and success at getting what you want, need, and deserve.

If you see a hot guy or girl standing over there (waiting in a line, or in their locker, or looking at foodstuff at the grocery store, or waiting in line at a fast-food restaurant) what are you gonna do if you don't have the confidence to say something???

You ain't gonna do jack-shit except let that opportunity pass you by.

That "prize" is gonna walk right out of your life... And, you might not ever see him or her again...

This might be a good week to start up a conversation with that co-worker you've been checking out. But, you won't know if it's a good week or not if you don't have the balls to flirt a little or make SOME kind of move.

So, find your confidence boosters and that will help reduce your shyness.

Now, everybody is Not confident all the time. I've seen some brave men and strong women get nervous and sweat in some situations. I've seen them ask other people for their opinion or advice about what they should do and what actions they should take to succeed in a situation. So, everybody isn't confident all the time.

And, that's not always a bad thing. You can miss out on a good thing sometimes but you can also learn from the experience. And, that's what Life is all about: Learning and Growing...

Anyway,

There are some situations where we will lack confidence.

There are some situations where we are over-confident.

There are some situations that we fear.

Shyness, of course, is a form of fear.

Daydreaming instead of "Doing" (or taking action) can ruin your confidence. Some people love to daydream and imagine things that they COULD get if they only TOOK action instead of sitting around thinking about what action to take.

It's all about "making moves" and being good at what you do. And, the more you do something the better you get at it and the more confident you feel about IT and yourself.

You have to learn it, work it, and keep doing it until you move from a rookie to a veteran at it.

It doesn't matter if it's flipping burgers, playing professional football, approaching a man or woman, or interacting with others in a social environment. You have to learn how to do it and do it often to feel good about it.

But, if you learn what boosts your confidence and keep that feeling with you at all times that will also help you stay in a positive mood and radiate good vibes.

You'll be more eager to learn and to act.

You will be more comfortable.

You will improve your inner peace and peace of mind.

And, most of the time, you will feel good and enjoy the positive social situations that you find yourself in.

I'll update these notes later. I have to go out and find a hat and wig for a Halloween Costume Party.

I'll tell you about it when I update later!

How To Be Social And Attract A Good Man Or Woman

Now, before you read any of this crap, let me tell you straight away that I'm not an expert on social skills OR conversation skills. So, if you really want to improve in this area and want your confidence level to go up a few notches, then make sure you get out there and learn from other sources.

Read.
Watch Videos.
Visit Other Websites.
Interact With More People.

If you're sick in the head like me and think too much or suffer from Depression or lack confidence in yourself (or your skills; or your appearance), or if you're too shy or think lowly of yourself, I can relate. And, I'm sure I can give you a few good tips. BUT! You still need to get your ass out there and use other ideas and techniques that I'm sure will help you.

Now, don't get out and overload your brain with research and studying. This will only slow down the process!

You HAVE to Practice!

And, this is the easiest skill in the world to practice because all you have to do is interact with people.

And, unless you're a social recluse (or an asshole who don't like people) and live in a cave or something and don't own a computer or a cellphone, you WILL have to interact with people. So, you have an opportunity to practice at least five or ten times a day.

And, these people don't have to know that you're practicing your skills on them. Just do it and have fun about it. In no time, you'll learn to love it.

At one point in my life, I used to be very outgoing. I had a best friend and several other good friends that I was close to. I drove around visiting friends and relatives all the time. I'd shop and party with a few of my homeboys almost every weekend. People would call me all the time. I was never without a girlfriend (or two). My bosses liked me. My co-workers liked me. My neighbors thought I was okay. I was a sociable dude. But, somehow, something about me changed...

Now, I feel out of place most of the time.

I'm not sure what to say or What I'm saying sometimes. And, I feel self-conscious about being misunderstood.

I worry too much about how I come across to people.

I over-analyze situations and subjects and ramble on and on.

I try not to interrupt people or disturb people and they think I'm being anti-social or ignoring them.

Many days, I don't feel "energized" enough to WANT to deal with the World. I'd rather be alone.

I worry about being boring......

I feel like a social misfit.

Do you ever feel like that???

I don't know how this happened. Some of my family members would tell you that I was a loner as a child. But, I still had quite a few friends. I played football with the neighborhood boys. I went swimming with friends. I always had friends and admirers in school. I went to school dances. I was sociable.I'm a sociable person.

But, sometimes, I just drift off into a place of my own.

It's terrible if you're in a relationship.

Hardly any of my relationships or friendships ended badly. I just sort of "drifted away".

That is the biggest complaint of most of my girlfriends. They'd always say something like: "You never spend enough time with me!"; "Where have you been??? I haven't talked to you for three days!"

I'd tell those chicks: "Shut the hell up and be glad that your goofy-ass is talking to me now."

There was no malice in it. I'd just say that in jest whenever they started yelling. But, none of those chicks understood me. It wasn't like I didn't care or like I was trying to be elusive or a stranger. I just drifted off. Some people are like that for some reason.

If you have that problem, I'm gonna tell you straight-up that improving your social skills is going to be a pain. You'll have to give up being self-absorbed and strictly focused on your own desires and interests. You'll have to find a balance between what you want and your relationships.

This is even a difficult task for most successful people and celebrities. That's why so many of them get cheated on or divorced. They neglect their mates, family, and old friends, because they're workaholics. It's hard for them to find balance between What they love and WHO they love.

so, if you want to avoid that situation or improve your social skills, you have to give up being a self-absorbed recluse. Your main focus has to making friends and building friendships. The rest of that stuff about making money and achieving your goals will fall into place - if you're good at what you do.

Now, in order for you to find your SoulMate or improve your confidence about approaching prospects, make sure you take heed to the suggestions I made earlier.

Read. Visit other websites about social confidence. Interact with people. Practice. Blah, blah, blah...

In this blog I'm gonna create a section for this topic.

And, we're gonna go "deep cover" about this because social confidence is not just about your conversation skills. It's also about how you view yourself and how you view other people and situations. It's about the vibes you radiate to other people. Using your instincts in your responses.

We're gonna analyze and practice all of that stuff.

(Listen to me: I sound like a professor.)

And, I'm 100% positive if you just try to have fun with this and enjoy yourself, you will step your game up and meet the girl or guy of your dreams who could be right under your very nose right now and waiting for you to make a move.

I'll post some notes and links later today so you'll be ready for action at the Halloween Party this weekend.

Daydreaming About Romance Might Make You Lovesick

I have to stop thinking about this chick. If I don't I'm gonna MAKE myself fall in love with her.

This is a girl I've mentioned before.

She looks nice. Or, maybe I just THINK so because I've been thinking about approaching her for a date.

She's not someone I would normally be attracted to, but her personality is great. Or, maybe I'm just imagining it is...

???

I don't know.

Maybe I'm lonely.

Well, not enough to give up my Freedom. lol

I don't know.

I mean, she doesn't have a lot of the physical features I like.

I have to have something to turn me on and keep me interested.

Plus, I like to ogle and stare at My Girl just as other guys would.

I love her hair though. And she does have a nice booty. I mean, it's not round and bubbly, but it's curvy and well-proportioned. And, that's cool.

But, I'm a "Leg Man". I LUUUUV pretty legs.

And, I can't remember what her's look like. That's not a good sign. If a woman has beautiful legs, the image of them would stay in my mind for... a long time. Even if she's a stranger. Well, she has to have an "IT" factor going on too, but beautiful legs are my fetish.

If I walk in to work today and she's there wearing shorts, do you think that would be a sign?

What if those legs turn me off?

UGH!

I hate being human sometimes. Too many choices, decisions, and preferences.

I'm too picky.

I could lose my legs tomorrow. Or, today!

If I did, would she be willing to talk to me?

I have to stop being so damn picky.

Have you ever noticed that there are many people who are picky about who they would date but in reality, they have no right to be picky? I mean, they're so ugly that they look like they bathe and wash their face in "Ugly" everyday instead of soap and water?

Hell, I know I'm not the cutest cupcake on the block, but I have my moments. I can look cute every now and then.

I've got a little bit of style when it comes to fashion.

My personality is cool.

So, I make it do what it do with what I've got.

I guess that's why I'm so picky.

But...

Should I be picky about this girl? I could miss out on a good thing.

She IS smart as hell. And, she's in college. And, she's got a lot of energy. And, a nice butt. Oh, and nice boobs.

Damn...

Ugh!

I'll drive myself crazy about this chick.

The relationship could be a Winner. Or, it could be a dud.

I don't know...

I just don't wanna make a bad decision.

Lord, help me.

Bad Luck... You stay away.

Why Guys Have To Make The First Move - Most Of The Time

There are some men that really expect a woman to approach them rather than them approaching the woman. I mentioned this in an earlier loveqna blog post, but I have to bring it back up because I KNOW FOR A FACT that there are women out there that aren't afraid to approach a man if he's what the woman really wants.

True, some guys feel a little uneasy about this. Some are even turned off by it. Some think women who approach men are possible psychos and weirdos. It's a double-standard and confusing as hell, I know. Because, here you have guys who are TOO AFRAID to approach a woman but when SHE approaches one of them, the guy runs off because he scared that she's a nut! It's like he becomes the girl who's paranoid that anyone who approaches is a potential stalker.

Even if they're both in a night club, this can happen. But how and why???

First, I'm going to give you a list of why people reject romantic attempts, then I'll list THE REASONS WHY MEN MUST MAKE THE FIRST MOVE.

And, I hope none of the ladies take offense to this because men get rejected for the same reasons.

Okay, here'S why a person may get rejected after approaching a prospect:

* Too agressive and too far into the man's or woman's personal space
* Afraid the prospect may be dangerous or a potential hazard
* Afraid the prospect is a player or "wild and loose" with the "goods"
* Appearance or style is not what the guy or girl wants
* Personality doesn't seem to be what the guy or girl wants
* Wrong pick-up line at the wrong time
* Involved and faithful
* Not sure how to respond to your advances
* Afraid of what his or her friends may think
* Making a public spectacle of the situation
* Hygiene is not up to par

Does any of this sound familiar? Have you turned anyone down because the situation met any of these criteria? I'll bet you have, and if you haven't yet, you will at some point in your life.

Now, let me tell you about a small research project I participated in recently...

I went on a Q. and A. site and posted a question for the ladies. I wanted to know why most of them didn't approach men. Of course, I got the obvious answer from a couple of posters: "Because men are supposed to approach." I'm not even going to comment on that crap right now. But, luckily, there were some honest ladies on the site that gave me a couple of honest answers that I would now like to share with you. And, here they are...

Men have to make the first move because many women:

* Are afraid of rejection

* Don't want to make a fool of themselves

* Don't want to be embarrassed by the guy in front of others

* Don't want to approach a man who is already involved or married

* Don't feel comfortable approaching strangers

* Believe the man will think negatively of them

* Doesn't want to seem desperate or too agressive

* Feel it's not lady-like to approach a man or chase him

* Believe in the cultural rule that a man must pursue a woman not vice versa

And, for these reasons, MEN, we must stay in "hot pursuit" if we are going to get the girl of our dreams - or get our greedy little hands on any of that golden booty.

We got to get out there and put our bids in and let those ladies know that we are worth their time and affections. Only a few are going to come to us, so we have no choice but to play by the old rules until women take complete control of the Earth and have to bid against each other for OUR love. What else CAN we do???

Good Luck on your mission, and I'll see you soon...
